Press Release Body = The thought may be swimming around in your head right now. A
study shows that 85% of American's over the age of 18 have thought about starting a
business of their own. Sadly says strategic business planning consultant, Dan
Nichols, fewer than 6 percent of our population will ever actually realize the dream
of being their own boss. "People talk about tragedy and I've never once heard this
mentioned. To me, it is tragic that people will spend a life cashing their dreams in
for a paycheck."
Michigan author and small business consultant Dan Nichols says, "People rarely fail
to start a business or for that matter fail once in business because they don't
understand some pie in the sky management theory. They fail to take action because
they stumble over their psychology. This is why traditional business planning
doesn't work and why I decided to do something about it. Most business planning
tools work like a fight manual. They provide data but paint zero context. It is no
wonder so few people can't seem to make the plunge. I am here to change that. It is
my passion and my vision." Nichols, an entrepreneur of 20 years finds this so
troubling that he actually authored a business planning system called Lemonade Stand
Simple where he cleverly merged both the emotional food and the tactical business
planning steps into one cohesive business planning system.
With the direction the world is heading in, Nichols thinks it is essential that
people take the bull by the horns and as he says, "make it happen". "There is no way
we can keep losing manufacturing and continue to thrive as a powerful country --
that is a pipe dream. People talk about the information age but I can assure you
they're living in lala land if they think the playing field for information isn't
spread much thinner across the world -- people still have to make stuff." Nowhere
else in the country could this be more evident than in his home state of Michigan
where the automotive industry is barely treading water and the state holds the title
of worst economy in the nation. Though Nichols would prefer people make the move
into self-employment out of choice and not be forced into the life of an
entrepreneur he says he is ready for them either way. Lastly he says that, "unlike
Donald Trump, we weren't all born with silver spoons and acceptance into Wharton at
7 years of age. My
business planning system is street wise and germane and without a doubt it's "Lemonade Stand Simple".
